Funding for the Care to Share program comes from members of the electric cooperative, who generously round up their electric bills to the next dollar amount. Members have contributed more than $1.8 million since 2005, proving that Pee Dee Electric members have big hearts for not just their communities but also for service.
“Through the power of giving, Pee Dee Electric’s Care to Share Program makes a positive impact in the communities we serve,” said Taylor Demby, Manager of Marketing and Communications. “We’re honored to provide grants that support local non-profits and emergency agencies.”
The maximum award for first responder agencies is $7,500, and these organizations can apply for funding every two years. The maximum grant for all other local non-profit organizations is $5,000, and they can apply for funding every three years. “The work being carried out by these non-profit organizations in our communities and throughout our service area is making a significant impact,” Demby said. “We’re proud to support them through our Care to Share program.”
