Pee Dee Electric Supports Richmond County Senior Symposium

The event also marked the kickoff of the Senior Games of Richmond County season. This program encourages seniors to stay active and healthy, promoting confidence and overall well-being. As a nonprofit dedicated to enriching the lives of older adults, the Senior Games received a Care to Share grant. They used the grant to purchase new games and additional equipment to increase accessibility for participants.

“Our Care to Share program is a great example of how small contributions can lead to a big impact,” said Demby. “It’s inspiring to see how these funds directly support organizations that enrich the lives of people in our community.” Spencer echoed the sentiment, adding, “Attending the symposium allowed us to connect with local seniors and see firsthand the positive effects of these programs. It’s rewarding to know that Pee Dee Electric is playing a role in fostering a healthier, more engaged senior community.”

Pee Dee Electric’s Care to Share program allows members to contribute just a few cents each month by rounding up their electric bills to the nearest dollar. Since 2005, this initiative has raised over $1.8 million, directly benefiting local nonprofits and making a meaningful impact on the communities we serve.

Pee Dee Electric members continue demonstrating that small acts of generosity can lead to significant changes. Together, we are powering a brighter future for our communities.
