East Pender District Director Bertice Lanier Retires After 40 Years of Service

Mr. Lanier joined the Board in 1985 and served in key leadership roles, including Board Secretary/Treasurer and Board Vice-President. His four decades of service leave a lasting legacy of leadership, dedication, and commitment to the cooperative and its members.

He also represented Four County EMC with distinction on several state and industry boards. Mr. Lanier served on the North Carolina Association of Electric Cooperatives (NCAEC) Nominating Committee in 2008, 2012, and 2017, and was named Committee Chairman in 2020. From 2009 to 2020, he was a member of the Tarheel Electric Membership Association (TEMA) Board of Directors, where he held several leadership roles—including Board Secretary/Treasurer (2013–2014), Board Vice-President (2015–2017), and Board President (2018).
