The 2025 Four County EMC Annual Membership Meeting will take place on October 6, 2025 at the Duplin County Events Center. During this meeting, members will vote to elect three directors to the Four County EMC Board.
Four County EMC is governed by a ten-member Board of Directors, elected by co-op members to serve staggered three-year terms. Each member has one vote, ensuring fair and democratic representation in the Cooperative’s decision-making process.
According to the Four County EMC bylaws, the terms of the following directors will expire this year:
- East Pender District – Bertice L. Lanier (retired February 25, 2025)
- East Bladen District – Kenneth Thornton, Jr.
- At-Large – Clayton Hollingsworth
Nomination Process
Per the bylaws, the Board of Directors must appoint a nominating committee of at least ten (10) members. These appointments must be made no fewer than 90 days and no more than 120 days before the Annual Meeting.
The Nominating Committee will meet on June 19, 2025, to select nominees for the expiring director positions. The finalized list of nominees will be posted at least 70 days prior to the Annual Meeting. This list will be made available through the following channels:
- All three Four County EMC office locations
- The Four County EMC website: fourcty.org
- Four County EMC social media channels
- The cover wrap of the October 2025 edition of Carolina Country, which will also include the official Annual Meeting notice and be mailed to all members at least 10 days before the meeting
These nominees will be presented for election at the Annual Membership Meeting on October 6.
