2021 Youth Tour Update

Normally we‘d be doing an all-call for anyone interested in applying for the Electric Cooperative Youth Tour 2021.

This trip typically sends three local rising juniors or seniors on a weeklong trip to Washington, D.C. Activities include: participating in Youth Day, where students learn more about America’s electric cooperatives; visiting Capitol Hill and meeting with our North Carolina Senators and Congressmen; visiting the sights of Washington, D.C., including monuments; visiting the Smithsonian museums; taking a boat trip down the Potomac River; seeing a show at the Kennedy Center or a Washington National game and attending an All-States Dance.

However, since the Tour was canceled this year, we will be sending our three ambassadors from 2020 to the Youth Tour in 2021. The students representing our Cooperative are:

As representatives of South River EMC, each student will recieve a $1,000 scholarship. The Electric Cooperative Youth Tour will take place June 20–26, 2021.
