Bennett Retires From Board of Directors

Board President Richard Johnson presents a plaque to Winnie Bennett for her service, dedication and commitment to Pee Dee Electric.

Bennett joined the Board after being appointed to represent District 3 members. During her tenure, she played a key role in several significant milestones, including consolidating offices and establishing Pee Dee Electric’s current headquarters. She is also proud to have been part of the Board’s selection of the cooperative’s current CEO, Jordan Hildreth.

“The energy industry is changing rapidly, and I am excited to know the work will continue in capable hands,” Bennett shared.

A strong champion for community advocacy, Bennett valued listening to members and working closely with Pee Dee Electric leadership to ensure the delivery of safe, reliable and affordable electricity. While she is vacating her seat on the Board, Bennett plans to remain active and engaged within the community and encourages members to do the same.

“Get involved and stay committed,” she said. “It takes dedication. As a Board member, you must attend meetings and training so you can make sound decisions about cooperative business on behalf of the membership.”

Bennett looks forward to traveling more and spending quality time with her family.

On behalf of the Board of Directors, employees, and members, we thank Winnie Bennett for her years of service, leadership, and unwavering commitment to Pee Dee Electric.
