Championing Classroom Creativity

Poplin Elementary

Since 1994, the Bright Ideas grant program has been a part of North Carolina’s electric cooperatives’ continued commitment to building a brighter future.

Union Power is proud to award Bright Ideas grants to 12 exceptional K-12 teachers in Union, Stanly, Cabarrus, and Rowan counties. Awarding more than $20,000 in grants, these innovative projects will help bring teachers’ visions into reality. We strive to give back to creative educators who work hard to make learning fun and engaging, while also investing in the strength of our communities.

Congratulations to our 2025-2026 Bright Ideas grant recipients!
