A new attraction at the North Carolina Zoo near Asheboro highlights exotic birds. The fast-paced “Birds in Flight” features majestic macaws, sun conures, falcons, hawks, vultures and owls up close and personal or doing aerial acrobatics under the open sky. Visitors to the zoo - the largest “natural habitat” zoo in the country - also can see a wide range of critters and engage in fun activities such as its Air Hikes Ropes Course.
