High School Students: Apply Now for a Trip to D.C. 

Every June, 1,500 high school students from across the country spend a week in the nation’s capital as part of the National Rural Electric Cooperative Youth Tour. Participating in the Youth Tour is an excellent way to learn about this great nation, develop leadership skills, and better understand electric cooperatives.

Pee Dee Electric is looking for two rising juniors or seniors to represent our co-op at the next Youth Tour. Applications will be accepted through Jan. 9, 2026. Applications are available in the guidance office of local high schools and can be accessed online at pdemc.com.

Join other outstanding high school students selected from electric cooperatives across the state to represent North Carolina in Washington, D.C., the capital of the United States.

All applications must be postmarked no later than Jan. 9, 2026, and can be emailed to programs@pdemc.com or mailed to:

Time to Apply!

All area high school students who are rising juniors and seniors and whose home is served by Pee Dee Electric are eligible to compete for an all-expense paid trip to the nation’s capital. Up to 2 students from Pee Dee Electric’s service area will be selected to attend the tour.
