In 1991, Tideland EMC became one of the first co-ops in the country to introduce Operation Round Up® as a way of helping struggling members while ensuring the funds stayed local.
Today, we need your help to make sure the program remains a robust source of last resort funding as state and national resources are cut.

How does Operation Round Up® work?
Members who wish to participate in the program have their electric bill rounded up each month and those few cents are deposited into Tideland’s charitable fund. For example, if your bill is $81.65, it would automatically be rounded up to $82.00 and the extra 35¢ collected would go to Operation Round Up®.
How much will it cost me?
Monthly contributions average 50¢ or $6.00 a year. You also have the option to contribute a fixed dollar amount each month through Operation Round Up® Plus.
Are contributions tax deductible?
Because Operation Round Up® is administered by the Tideland Electric Care Trust, a 501c3 non-profit entity, contributions can be tax deductible.
How are contributions utilized?
You can rest assured that the trustees who oversee Operation Round Up® will use contributions wisely. Energy assistance grants are limited to $100 per occurrence and no more than $300 in a 12-month period.
Eligibility requirements:
- one year of membership
