Pee Dee Electric Awards $30,000 Sharing Success Grant to Feed My Lambs

Pee Dee Electric is proud to announce a $30,000 award to Feed My Lambs through the CoBank Sharing Success Grant Program. This initiative is made possible through a partnership with CoBank, a national cooperative bank that matches contributions from cooperatives to amplify support for rural communities nationwide.

Founded in 1999, Feed My Lambs is a faith-based nonprofit ministry dedicated to serving individuals and families in need. Over the past 25 years, the organization has distributed millions of pounds of food and essential supplies, becoming a vital resource for families throughout Anson County and the surrounding area.

Grant funds will be used to construct a new loading dock and replace the facility’s 60-year-old roof. Currently, volunteers rely on a forklift-and-chain system to unload deliveries—a time-intensive process that poses safety concerns. The new loading dock will significantly improve efficiency, enhance safety, and increase the organization’s capacity to serve a growing number of families.

Replacing the aging roof will also protect the facility and the critical resources stored inside.
“These improvements will have a lasting impact on our ministry and the community we serve,” said Lisa Holt, director of Feed My Lambs. “We are deeply grateful to Pee Dee Electric and CoBank for investing in our mission.”

“At Pee Dee Electric, we believe strong communities are built through partnership and service,” said Jordan Hildreth, CEO of Pee Dee Electric. “Feed My Lambs plays an essential role in addressing food insecurity in Anson County, and we are honored to support their continued growth and impact.”

As a member-owned cooperative, Pee Dee Electric’s commitment extends beyond delivering reliable electricity. Through programs like Sharing Success, the cooperative continues to invest in organizations that make a meaningful difference in the lives of those it serves.
