Great Outhouse Races

The Great Outhouse Races at Ski Sapphire Valley is an annual winter event where participants compete in decorated outhouses on skis. The race typically involves teams of at least three people, with one person skiing while sitting on an outhouse and the others pushing the outhouse from behind to get started. In addition to the races, there are usually other festivities and activities taking place, such as food and drinks, music, and games. The event is a fun and unique way to celebrate winter and bring the community together.

Creedmoor Music Festival

Take in a full day of live music, food, shopping and community fun on Main Street in Creedmoor. Start the day at the Car Cruise-In then stay for the festival. The South Granville High School Chorus opens the festival followed by nonstop entertainment across two stages. This festival takes place on the third Saturday in September. Go back in time to the early years of peanut harvesting from horses and plows, to peanut stacks and tractors and mechanical peanut pickers of today. The festival includes a peanut cook-off contest and each entry must include peanuts. Cash prizes are given to these winners. We have for sale roasted, salted in the shell and freshly boiled peanuts. The students of Dublin Elementary School create our festival T-shirt graphics each year.
