Lace Cookies

Give your sweetheart a plate of crunchy, sugar-filled bliss! A little bit of batter goes a long way with these delicate, lacy cookies. This recipe yields a "bushelful," so be sure to share the love.

Ingredients

1 egg
1 cup melted butter
3 cups brown sugar
2 cups quick oats
1 teaspoon vanilla
½ cup finely chopped nuts (we used pecans)
Pinch of salt
½ cup melted white chocolate (optional)

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Cover a baking sheet with parchment paper.

  2. Mix ingredients as listed. Drop scant teaspoons of batter about 2 inches apart. Bake for approximately 7 minutes. Let cool on baking sheet before removing.

  3. To add the heart decorations, heat the white chocolate in an open bowl in the microwave for 30 seconds and stir. Continue this process until melted. Scoop the melted chocolate into a plastic baggie and snip one of the corners. Pipe hearts onto the cooled cookies. Let sit 10 minutes or until the chocolate hardens.
