Ingredients
1 cup vanilla wafer crumbs
1/2 cup powdered sugar
1/2 cup finely chopped walnuts
1 tablespoon unsweetened cocoa powder
1/4 cup drained maraschino cherries, chopped
1 tablespoon light corn syrup
1/2 teaspoon water
Red colored sugar (granulated sugar with red food coloring)
Directions
In a large bowl, mix vanilla wafer crumbs, powdered sugar, walnuts and cocoa powder. Stir in cherries and corn syrup until well mixed. Sprinkle with water and mix thoroughly until well blended, using hands if necessary. Shape mixture into 3/4 inch balls. Roll balls in colored sugar. Store in an airtight container overnight before serving.
