Union Power College Scholarships

High School Seniors

Union Power Cooperative is accepting applications beginning on Sept. 1, and will award 10 local students with a college scholarship to a North Carolina-accredited college or university. Applicants must meet the following criteria:

• Be the child of a Union Power Cooperative member or reside in a household served by Union Power.
• Be a high school senior in the current graduating class.
• Meet the criteria for awarding the scholarship: 40% need; 30% scholastic achievement; and 30% extracurricular activities in school, civic, and community functions.

NC Electric Cooperative Youth Tour

High School Juniors

Juniors, would you like a free trip to Washington, D.C.? Union Power Cooperative is seeking applications from high school juniors willing to take a leadership opportunity of a lifetime. Step out of your comfort zone and join North Carolina’s future leaders as they explore the nation’s capital.

In just five days, you’ll get to visit the National Mall, Smithsonian museums, Arlington National Cemetery, the Newseum (the world’s most interactive museum), the Lincoln Memorial and more!

Students in the 2024 graduating class are eligible to attend and are encouraged to apply at union-power.com.

The deadline to apply is Friday, Dec. 30, 2022.

All educational programs are judged, and winners are selected by an independent committee not affiliated with the Cooperative. Winners will be notified upon the conclusion of each event. Children of Union Power employees and its subsidiary, Union Services, are not eligible to apply.
