Four County members can look forward to receiving over $1.3 million in Capital Credits. If you were a member in 2002, you will receive credit on your December bill! Capital Credits are another benefit of being an electric cooperative member.

This is an example of your bill. Please be advised that the credit amount varies depending on each member’s share. The credit is labeled as Capital Credit General Refund. If you have any questions, please reach out to us at 888-368-7289.
How Do Capital Credits Work?
Because electric co-ops operate at cost, excess revenues are returned to you in the form of capital credits.
- Four County tracks the electricity usage and purchases of each member throughout the year.
- At the end of each year, after covering expenses, Four County calculates any remaining funds, known as margins.
- These margins are initially used to reduce debt and invest in infrastructure upgrades.
- Eventually, our Board of Directors decides to return a portion of these funds to members as a capital credit on their bill.
