$2.7 Million Upgrade Underway

subtransmission route

The subtransmission route between the Five Points and Washington substations.

Ductile iron poles will replace all 141 existing wooden poles. The project will take 2 to 3 months to complete depending on weather events. In 2015, a tornado did significant damage to this section of line.

In May 2019, straight line winds again snapped poles on this circuit.
