A Season of Impact Thanks to the Union Power Charitable Foundation

Council on Aging in Union County

For older adults living on a fixed income, maintaining independence can sometimes mean making difficult choices between paying bills and affording essential supplies. The Council on Aging in Union County is working to make those essentials more accessible to seniors in our community. Thanks to UPCF’s support, the organization will provide the necessities that help seniors stay safe in their homes while offering peace of mind to the people who care for them.

Go Jen Go

A breast cancer diagnosis and treatment can create significant financial uncertainties for patients and their families. With support from UPCF, the Go Jen Go Foundation will provide direct assistance to local breast cancer patients and their families. This support will help cover essential living expenses when reduced work hours or time away from work create a gap in household income. By easing financial stress, this assistance allows patients to focus on stability, healing, and recovery.

Assist ME

Having the right mobility equipment for those experiencing temporary or long-term disabilities can make the difference between navigating daily life independently and facing significant barriers. Through Assist ME’s Mobility, Opportunity & Vital Equipment (MOVE) Program, the organization provides free, medically necessary mobility equipment to children and adults with limited financial resources and little to no insurance or Medicaid gaps. With UPCF’s support, Assist ME will purchase 48 high-need mobility items to stock a new Union County distribution site.
