REMC joined fellow electric cooperatives from across the state over the past several weeks in both Washington D.C. and Raleigh to represent our member-owners and the communities we proudly serve.
During these visits, we had the opportunity to meet with state and federal legislators to discuss important energy issues impacting rural communities and advocate for sensible policies that support reliable, affordable electricity for our members.
“Meeting with legislators and advocating for reliable, affordable electricity is an important part of representing our members and protecting the communities we proudly serve,” said Christian Morgan, Public Relations Manager of REMC.
These conversations play an important role in helping ensure our communities continue to have dependable power now and in the future. We are grateful for the time, support and partnership of leaders who are willing to listen and work alongside electric cooperatives on behalf of rural North Carolina.
It is always meaningful to reconnect with leaders who care deeply about our communities and the people we serve, and we appreciate the opportunity to continue working together to strengthen rural communities across our state.
By sharing the unique needs and challenges facing rural electric cooperatives, Randolph EMC helps ensure the voices of our member-owners are heard at every level of government. Strong partnerships and open communication with policymakers are essential as we work to meet the growing energy needs of our communities while maintaining the reliable service our members depend on every day.
