Four Steps to Stay Secure Online

Artificial Intelligence is making cyber threats faster, smarter and harder to spot. Fight back with these tips from the U.S. Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency

Make passwords long

(16+ characters) and different for every account. A password manager can help you create and store them safely.

Add a quick extra verification step

 — like a code, security key or authenticator app — to protect valuable accounts such as email, banking and social media.

Be cautious

of unexpected email or text messages with odd links, urgent language, misspellings or unfamiliar senders. If something feels off, delete or report it.

Install software updates

as soon as they’re available. Updates fix security flaws and help block the latest threats.
