Hildreth named Pee Dee Electric CEO

Donnie Spivey (L) and Jordan Hildreth

This month, Jordan Hildreth steps into the role of chief executive officer (CEO) for Pee Dee Electric as Donnie Spivey retires after four decades of service to the Lilesville-based electric co-op.

Spivey began his career with Pee Dee Electric as a staff assistant, later moving into the position of district manager before being named CEO and executive vice president in 1999. Under his leadership, the cooperative leveraged a variety of technologies to reduce costs to members, improve service and enhance operations, including the deployment of advanced metering infrastructure and one of the first community solar facilities in North Carolina.

“Over the years, our cooperative has seen tremendous change. We’ve moved from an era defined by poles and wires to one guided by technology, innovation and evolving member expectations,” Spivey said. “The way we deliver power, communicate with our members and plan for the future has transformed, but one thing has never changed: our mission to serve with integrity and care.”

Hildreth steps into the position after being named chief operating officer in 2025. He brings a wealth of experience managing several core aspects of Pee Dee Electric’s operations as former vice president of Finance and Administration.

“Pee Dee Electric has been such an important part of my professional journey, and I’m grateful for the trust the board and our members have placed in me,” Hildreth said. “I look forward to building on our strong foundation, working alongside our dedicated team, and continuing to serve our members and communities with excellence.”
