Recently, Hope Center Ministries (HCM), was awarded an Operation Round Up to help with its men’s center in Dunn.
“Hope Center Ministries began in 2007, opening its first location in Waverly, Tennessee, when Founder, Josh Hannah, experienced the radical, life-changing freedom found in Christ and carried a deep
burden for his friends who were caught in addiction and on a path of destruction,” said Adam Touchstone, chief communications
officer. “Out of that burden, he heard the call of God to ‘build a Hope Center’—a place where men and women could find the same hope, freedom, and transformation through Jesus Christ.”
That brought about the formation of an organization that has grown nationwide, operating in 52 locations across 13 states.
“With more than 1,650 beds, supported by more than 150 ministry team members and more than 2,500 volunteers, HCM has celebrated 4,150 graduates,” he said.
The goal is reaching people caught in addiction and helping them discover lasting freedom in a transformed life through Christ. HCM is a 12-month residential program, designed to provide structure, among other things.
The Operation Round Up grant provides four residents with immediate access to recovery housing at the Dunn Men’s Center. It will also support resident stability, increase workforce readiness and transition to independent living.
“From the beginning residents enter a highly structured environment centered on developing a relationship with Jesus Christ and learning how to live differently.”
Days consist of morning devotion, meals, Bible study, celebrate recovery, life skills classes, group and individual lay counseling, service time, recreation and other program activities. There is also time during the week for family support, church services, and intentional community, or social support from others who are working on their healing journey.
As individuals progress through the program at the facility, their schedule changes to mirror everyday life more.
“During phase 2, residents participate in approximately 40 hours of vocational training each week, while continuing Bible study, lay couseling, celebrate recovery, church service, and other program responsibilities,” said Touchstone. “This allows them to practice maintaining their recovery, faith, relationships and responsibilities while also developing a strong work ethic and valuable life skills.”
This will continue until residents are able to transition into employment. Many individuals are successful the first time, but there are times when more time is needed.
“Recovery is a process, and part of that process is learning how to respond to mistakes, correction, and accountability in a healthy way” he said. “The goal is always accountability, growth, and restoration. We want residents to experience consequences within a structured and supportive environment so they can develop the character, discipline, and decision-making skills necessary for life beyond Hope Center.”
The Operation Round Up grant provides four residents with immediate access to recovery housing at the Dunn Men’s Center, through scholarship support.
The Dunn Men’s Center is one of the newer additions, established in 2025 and can house and help 30 individuals.
It will also help improve resident stability through the nutrition and hygiene assistance program, increase workforce readiness through vocational support and training materials to strengthen successful completion outcome and transition to independent living.
