Held at Lumbee River EMC Headquarters, the Expo gave members an opportunity to learn more about programs and services available through the cooperative and throughout the community while enjoying food, entertainment, and activities for all ages.

A major focus of the event was the Energy Saver NC Program. Representatives were available to speak with members about energy-efficient home improvements that may be available to eligible low- and moderate-income households. Attendees could ask questions, learn more about eligibility requirements, and receive information about improvements such as insulation, air sealing, HVAC upgrades, and energy-efficient appliances.

Members also had the opportunity to connect with community organizations and service providers including Robeson County DSS, the Lumbee Tribe of North Carolina, Southeastern Community Action, Action Pathways, Hoke County DSS and the NC Indian Housing Authority. Lumbee River EMC Member Services, LREMC Energy Services, RIVR Tech and North Carolina’s Electric Cooperatives were also on-site to share information and answer questions.

Local businesses and vendors helped add to the community atmosphere, while a variety of food trucks gave guests plenty of options to enjoy throughout the evening.

Live entertainment from Rob Cole and DJ Gizmo helped keep the evening lively, while younger attendees enjoyed the Kids Zone with bounce houses and face painting. The Touchstone Energy® Hot Air Balloon was also on-site, giving attendees an up-close look at one of the cooperative network’s most recognizable attractions.

Lumbee River EMC appreciates everyone who attended and helped make the Member Engagement Expo possible. We also thank the community partners, vendors, food trucks, entertainers, and employees who contributed to a successful evening.

Events like the Member Engagement Expo are another way Lumbee River EMC works to serve our members beyond providing electricity by bringing people together and connecting our communities with information, opportunities, and resources that can make a difference.
