The remaining 22 hours of the day, time-of-use members will pay a reduced rate of 8.069¢ per kWh, which is 36% lower than our standard winter residential electric rate of 12.746¢.
If you are not on the time-of-use rate but want to contribute to wholesale power cost savings that benefit us all, you are welcome to observe these hours especially on the most extreme temperature days.
Time-of-use curious? Now would be a great time to do a trial run to see if the rate could benefit your household.
Time-of-use rates
The time-of-use program is a rate option available to Tideland EMC’s residential members. Savings are not guaranteed so you must be vigilant about maintaining an off-peak lifestyle to reap benefits from the program. The time-of-use rate does require that we replace your existing meter with one programmed to track energy use during the on-peak and off-peak hours.
