Pee Dee Electric Recognized for Commitment to Safety

The award was presented during the Brighter Futures Conference by North Carolina Electric Cooperative’s CEO, Amadou Fall, and Rebecca Alston, director of Job Training and Safety. Susan Noyes, vice president of Finance and Administration, accepted the award on behalf of Pee Dee Electric.

The Certificate of Safety Achievement recognizes electric cooperatives that demonstrate a strong commitment to creating and maintaining a culture of safety throughout their organization. To earn the award, cooperatives must meet rigorous standards for workplace safety practices, employee training, accident prevention, regulatory compliance and ongoing risk management. Utilities are evaluated on their safety performance, implementation of proactive safety programs and dedication to protecting employees, members and the communities they serve.

At Pee Dee Electric, safety remains a core value in daily operations. Employees regularly participate in safety meetings, job-site assessments, emergency response training and continuing education programs designed to reinforce safe work habits and industry best practices.

“Safety is more than a requirement for us, it’s part of our culture,” said Dustin Marsh, safety coordinator. “This recognition reflects the commitment our employees show every day to looking out for one another and serving our members safely and responsibly. We are proud of the teamwork and accountability that make achievements like this possible.”

Safety is a core value

Just as it is important for our employees to work safely around electricity, it is equally important for cooperative members to live and play safely around electricity. Here are some important safety tips for everyone to remember.
