The cabin courts

There may be remnants of these in Dillsboro still standing today.

In the old days there were no big hotels and motels, just cabins and cottage courts that you could rent by the day. These were all along the tourist travel routes throughout the South. Two or three are still standing in Lincolnton at the junction of Hwy. 27 and Hwy. 150 behind the antique shop on Hwy. 150.
