Food for Families
This organization is transforming lives by supporting and nurturing families in need. As the only program in Union County that delivers highly nutritious food directly to all their recipients in need, it plays a vital role in fighting hunger. Thanks to the grant the Foundation is providing, Food for Families will be able to distribute weekend food, ensuring that every child facing food insecurity will have the nourishment they need to thrive. This effort helps facilitate a future where no child goes hungry.
Fields of Hope
Fields of Hope is a nonprofit organization in the greater Charlotte area that provides hope, healing, and empowerment to survivors of trafficking. “Thanks to UPCF, these funds will help us expand our reach for prevention through our educational awareness program, and operational expenses. Most importantly, these funds will go directly to our survivors,” said Sallie Jarosz, operations manager and Melissa Hall, executive director.
Community Shelter of Union County
The Community Shelter of Union County provides emergency shelter, food, and rehousing support to residents experiencing homelessness. With the grant provided, the shelter will expand its Home Again Program, which helps individuals and families transition to independent housing. These funds will help furnish homes, creating a more welcoming and comfortable environment as they transition from homelessness to housing.
Union County Crisis Assistance Ministry
Protecting families from eviction and keeping them in their homes during unexpected crises is this ministry’s mission. By providing short-term financial assistance, case management, and access to essential resources, this organization is making a significant impact. With the UPCF grant, the ministry will be able to provide direct assistance with emergency payments to landlords and utility providers. This support ensures families can maintain safe and stable housing while keeping essential services intact
