
A retired restauranteur, O’Neal continues to remain active in island life with a keen focus on the issues facing Ocracoke, including frequent ocean overwash on Highway 12 and the state ferry service. In addition to Ocracoke, O’Neal will represent Tideland members in Manns Harbor, Stumpy Point and East Lake.
O’Neal serves on various island boards including the Ocracoke Seafood Company, Ocracoke Decoy Carvers’ Guild, and the Ocracoke Preservation Society.
O’Neal and his wife, Susan, have three children.
