These talented sisters serve up a fresh take on this old gospel favorite about crossing over to the eternal land. It’s one of 11 tunes on their album, “Coming Home.” Its other offerings include their poignant, original “Frost on the Ground.” Musicians Stephen Ayers and Aubrey Pratt also perform on the CD.
The sisters’ band, The Lang Sisters, meld folk, gospel and bluegrass traditions to create their own acoustic sound. Jessie, age 16, is a singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist who has won guitar, vocal and ensemble performance awards at competitions throughout North Carolina and Virginia. Chloe, 20, is a strong rhythm player and vocalist for the duet who also plays the piano and percussion and has a special interest in arts education.
