The reality? Most homeowners still have an electric bill after installing solar, and those financing arrangements can stretch for decades.

There are also practical challenges that may not come up in a sales pitch—like what happens if you need roof repairs in a few years and your installer is no longer in business. Not all companies will service or reinstall panels they didn’t originally install, leaving you with costly headaches down the road.

Four County EMC is pro-solar—but we are firmly against our members being taken advantage of. Solar can be a great investment, but it works best when approached with eyes wide open and accurate, customized information.
