In 2019, Huntersville-based Big Beverages started as a family-led venture looking to help small beverage businesses grow their brands. It has since grown into a full-service beverage manufacturer, and a November 2024 acquisition by global energy drink phenomenon Celsius has put the company on the map.
“Consumers are increasingly seeking better-for-you products, and brands [like Celsius] are responding with innovative offerings that prioritize natural ingredients, lower sugar content and functional benefits,” said Big Beverages CEO Ryan Goff.
The company is expanding, increasing capacity to meet the growing demand for Celsius products. Last year, Big Beverages produced 300 million cans of the sparkling drink; a second high-speed canning line will increase production to more than 2 million cans per day.
Goff credits Statesville-based EnergyUnited for helping the energy-intensive company thrive, both through reliable operations and long-term growth plans.
“Our operations depend on electricity, water and natural gas to keep production running efficiently,” Goff said. “Reliable energy service is critical to everything we do, and we’ve been fortunate to operate within EnergyUnited’s service territory. Their reliability, responsiveness and support have been outstanding as we’ve continued to grow.”
