Family and faith are central to your life?

Ricky and I have been married for 38 years. We have two daughters; Taylor who is married to Kyle, and Niki who has a daughter, Annalee. Ever since Annalee was born, I would go to her house every day at lunch to see her, until she started school. She’s in third grade now, and I still see her pretty much every day. She’s smart and funny, and just fun to be around, and well, obviously I adore her. I love spending time with my daughters too, they’re like my best friends, and we hang out, go thrifting, go to the beach, do anything together, and with Annalee of course.

Besides his full-time job, Ricky is Pastor of the small church we founded, Place of Grace Ministries. I have Women’s Bible Study on Tuesday and Thursday nights at our home. Family and friends come to it too, and I’ll cook for everyone, or others will share the cooking. On Sundays I get up early to cook, and then after church everyone in the family comes back to the house for lunch. It’s wonderful.

What other things do you enjoy doing?

We have a camper, and have been to the mountains with it, which I absolutely love, and we’ll use it a lot more when we retire. But I could never leave the beach. The beach is my happy place, and once I get there, I don’t want to leave. I love to do all kinds of crafting. I’m doing bible tassels now, and bible study baskets. I did one for a United Way fundraiser and someone bought it and liked it so much I’m making more for them for other occasions. I do flower arrangements for weddings too. It’s like therapy, it clears my mind. Bowling is also a passion, and I really enjoy going to Panthers’ home games.
