Christmas In July Festival

Ashe County’s longest-running festival, Christmas in July will be the grand finale for Independence Day celebrations. It opens on Friday, July 5 at 5 PM with a full lineup of entertainers and food vendors, making downtown West Jefferson the perfect spot to spend Friday evening. A regular Farmers Market opens at 8 AM on Saturday, July 6, followed by craft vendors, local non-profits, and specialty food vendors opening at 9 AM. The festival will extend throughout the downtown area along Jefferson Avenue, with sidewalks left clear for walking and browsing the shops. Ashe County Arts Council will host children’s activities, performers will rove the streets showcasing their magical talents, and Santa & Mrs. Claus will arrive straight from the North Pole. A great lineup of entertainers will take the stage to perform throughout the festival, playing traditional mountain music, contemporary country, rock, jazz, and beach music.
