Tired of adulting? Sometimes you just want to feel free, and this infectious pop-rock song can help you cut loose.

It’s the title track on Jordan’s album, “Dance by the Riverside.” Other great tracks include “Unknown Love, “Tomorrow” and “Unity.” This singer-songwriter infuses his songs with vibrant jazz, soul, blues and funk. He plays energetic guitar and four of the eight tracks have soaring horns that echo his catchy hooks. He has a rare gift of blending earthy, fun melodies with contemplative, socially conscious messages, too. You may detect shades of influential artists such as Marvin Gaye, Lenny Kravitz and Bob Marley, but you’ll hear Jordan’s distinctive sound first and foremost.

Jordan, who was raised in Raleigh, had written scores of original music and played numerous gigs by the time he finished high school. He released two EPs while attending the Berklee College of Music in Boston. Now based in Ashville, he tours in the United States and abroad.

  • i'm not a fan of your style of song, no comment other than take it to the barn and do some practicing.

  • yes i'd like to dance by the riverside but with a little less gung ho near the end , i think you need to begin to slow it down not build it up, begin the descent, the time to fall out into the grass with stars looking down on you, time to be slow and jazzy not pick up the pace. musically it would make a great song in a broadway play of how the mind takes us back to our youth and slowly we lose our innocence by experiencing life, day to day year to year.
