Tideland restores power after a hurricane at the substations first, primary circuits second, and smaller taps third. While we cannot deviate from this restoration strategy that generally restores power in order of greatest impact to members, we do maintain a “Medical Alert” list for those dependent on home medical equipment.
We currently have 275 members on the list and we are able to tailor communications and updates to these members when the risk increases for outages that are anticipated to last multiple days. We will make a special effort to communicate with our medically fragile members during hurricane recovery.
