Cheerwine Bread Pudding

With white chocolate drizzle and Cheerwine syrup

Here's a Southern take on this classic dessert from Chef Greg Williams at Charlotte’s What the Fries and our friends at Cheerwine. An easy crowd pleaser for your next holiday party or meal, you may want to halve the recipe for an at-home event.

Ingredients

7 loaves of bread (such as brioche or French bread), cubed
12 eggs
1 quart cream
1 liter Cheerwine
4 cups of sugar

Syrup Glaze

1 liter Cheerwine
1 cup sugar

Streusel

1 box cherry Jell-O
14 ounces chocolate and vanilla cookies
8 ounces melted butter

Directions

  1. Mix all the first five ingredients in a large bowl and spread out in a half-sheet tray.

  2. Bake at 325 degrees for 30 minutes.

  3. Mix the streusel ingredients together and bake at 325 degrees for 30 minutes.

  4. Meanwhile, combine the ingredients for the glaze in a small sauce pan and reduce for 30 minutes.

  5. Finally, add the streusel to the top of the bread pudding and pour the glaze over the top.
