Upside-Down Apple Cake

Ingredients

  • 1½ cups chopped nuts
  • 1 cup coconut
  • 1 cup chopped apples
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • ½ stick margarine, melted
  • 1 box yellow cake mix
  • 1 cup chopped apples
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 stick melted margarine
  • 1 box powdered sugar
  • 1 (8 oz.) package cream cheese

Directions

  1. Lightly grease 9X13-inch pan. Sprinkle chopped nuts and coconut in bottom of pan. Toss chopped apples, brown sugar and margarine together and spread over nuts and coconut.

  2. Mix cake mix by directions on box and add 1 cup chopped apples and cinnamon. Spread over mixture in pan. Cream melted margarine, powdered sugar and cream cheese. Spread on cake mix and bake at 300 degrees for 1 hour.

  3. Cool in pan. When cool, turn on to cake plate.
