Classic Deviled Eggs

Ingredients

  • 6 hard boiled eggs (large)
  • 3 tablespoons mayonnaise or salad dressing
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon mustard (or honey mustard)
  • 1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Paprika (optional)

Directions

  1. Remove shells from eggs,* and halve lengthwise with a knife.

  2. Carefully remove the yolks, and place in a medium bowl.

  3. Mash yolks with a fork, and add remaining ingredients. Mix well.

  4. Very carefully spoon mixture back into the egg white halves.

  5. Garnish with a light sprinkling of paprika (optional).

*To boil eggs: Place eggs in a single layer in a saucepan and cover with enough cold water that there’s 1 inch of water above the eggs. Heat on high until water begins to boil; then cover, remove from heat, and let sit for 12 minutes for large eggs.
