This Month’s Issue: NC Agriculture
More than 8 million acres are dedicated to farm operations across North Carolina, according to the NC Department of Agriculture & Consumer Services, representing a quarter of our state’s landmass. Agriculture and agribusiness contributed more than $87 billion to our state’s economy in 2016, according to NC State, representing 730,000 jobs. That’s a big deal. Within that massive industry, we’ve found a few examples of why it makes us proud, which we’re happy to share in this month’s issue.
