Halifax Helps was established in 2008 to provide financial assistance to areas served by Halifax EMC by funding projects that meet one of the following five criteria: education, economic development, energy efficiency, environment or emergency response. Funds for the Halifax Helps grants are voluntarily generated through Operation Round-Up by “rounding up” members’ electric bills to the nearest dollar.
